Expanded HIV Testing Initiative (ETI)

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (MODHSS) has contracted with Washington University’s Division of Infectious Diseases to increase routine HIV testing in clinical settings in St. Louis in accordance with CDC recommendations. This effort is known as the Expanded HIV Testing Initiative (ETI).

The long-term goal of the ETI is to identify and provide assistance to sites that may reach significant numbers of persons affected by HIV if routine HIV testing is implemented within their clinical practices.

Under this initiative, we partner with local health care venues such as your organization.

  • We offer rapid HIV test kits as provided by MODHSS and technical assistance for the development and implementation of routine HIV testing procedures and protocols.
  • We also provide assistance on how to access and utilize the region’s HIV Engagement and Adherence Team (HEAT) program to ensure linkage to medical care and case management for persons testing positive for HIV.
  • Finally, we act as a liaison with MODHSS to address progress, accomplishments, and challenges, regarding the initiative.

If your organization is interested in participating in this initiative or for more information, please contact us.
